My plan to go on two back-to-back vacations might not have been my most brilliant idea ever; I was in the office an entire day between Cambridge and Lincoln, which didn't really give me enough chance to enjoy my previous vacation or eagerly anticipitate my next one. In this case, doing differently would have been difficult, given the external time constraints on both events.

I think I spent most of the day playing Kohan: Ahriman's Gift and watching other Festors play Wii Tanks. At some point during the weekend, someone got the idea for different people to play pieces of the controller: one would drive and one would shoot for each of the two on-screen tanks. It worked fairly well (and gave more people the opportunity to participitate) but occasionally suffered from coordination issues, especially when the driver hid behind a barrier from which tank shells would ricochet.

After supper, Yanthor, Linknoid, and I played an epic game of Kohah: Ahriman's Gift versus five hard AIs. (Anya and Kiesa watched A Good Year.) Yanthor and I played our favorite faction, Council; Linknoid also played Council for the economic benefits. Our five opponents started hitting us fairly early but the game didn't start going poorly for us until they assembled a massive army with mounted archers. Linknoid lost most of his home but I was able to liberate it with a counter-attack that ultimately failed. We took two hours wall-clock time to lose a one-hour game since we kept pausing it to discuss strategy.

After loosing our game, Yanthor scoured his kitchen for a blender and eventually created an Exciting Blender Drink involving re-hydrated mango strips, almost-tasteless fresh peaches, and several other fruits. I can't say it was inspired, but it was interesting.

Shortly after midnight, Yanthor, Nemo, and I played Star Munchkin. Towards the end of the game, I had nine experience points and needed only to kill one monster to win when Yanthor and Nemo played all of their traps to keep me from defeating the monster and winning. I kept one card in reserve, Paradox in a Box, which let me kill the monster Yanthor uncovered and win the game. No one had any cards left to keep me from winning.
