craziness

Date: 2001-12-25 21:04:35

Sunday morning, just before noon, I asked Gem to marry me. She said yes, which means that we're now engaged. It's kind of spooky. I tried to update my status on the Mask, but its web form seems broken. I'm quickly becoming aware of exactly how much stuff there is to do to plan one of these wedding things. Gem's excited that she will get to make up all sorts of spreadsheets to organize everything. A date is a very good place to start. I have no idea which graduate school I might get into, which will affect when (and, obviously, where) I have to show up. The best tentative date we can come up with is 04 August 2002. Location still to be determined, although somewhere Longview-ish. (Gem: "It doesn't speak to me wedding-ish.")

Being a geek, I registered a domain for information pertaining this wedding thing. gemandted.com. Unfortunately, I'm afraid of Rage's apache, which could put a damper on things. A skeleton page should be up before too long.

Saw Fellowship of the Ring again today, this time with Gem. (Another matinee.) Gem and I are in College Place so she can work this week. She's still on her work schedule from last quarter, which means that she doesn't start until 1730 on Tuesday so she can show up to physics lab. This means we could see the 1230 showing today. It was great fun. Gem liked it, too. I picked up Gem's copy of Return of the King (leaving the old edition I had been reading with Willy so he can read it) but haven't started yet.

Gem got off work early today; apparently no one opened up their new $MAJOR_COMPUTER_MANUFACTURER computer and tried to plug it in and didn't realize that they had to plug power into both the monitor and the CPU and called complaining their computer wasn't working. (I told Gem she would defiantly get two such calls; she got two total, neither dealing with morons and their power cables.) Tomorrow, though, it'll likely be mobbed.

/me likes vacation.

I can forsee the immediate future with [Bitscape], me, and Andromache
all obliquely referencing each other's pages from our own in more and
more fast-breaking content updates.
