The Week of the Living...

Date: 2000-05-03 23:09:00

The Week of the Living Dead proceeds. I took two Dr. Show tests today (or rather, yesterday, now that it's past midnight). I expected origins to kick my butt much harder than it did; I wouldn't be surprised if I got 90%. I totally ignored the six pages from Dr. Wong's sleep-inducing lecture on human evolution and guessed my way through that page. In other academic news, I bsed my way through a Christian beliefs quiz this morning. I'm having trouble reminding myself that I should care -- if I can pull off a 3.8 this semester, I can get a few thousand dollars in scholarships, which will be really nice. I have no idea how close to the edge I really am. I'm almost afraid to know -- it probably is ten meters behind me, and I'm walking like those cartoon characters, trying not to look down. I'm Lando Calrisian flying out of the second Death Star, feeling the flames lick the sides of the Falcon and hoping I can reach open space -- I can see the end of the tunnel in the distance -- before the flames overtake me.

In other news, the Linux lap is taking shape. I set up Harriet II yesterday and served a network install to Dilbert. Harriet II is having some strange apparently hardware-based problems, though. I still haven't figured out how to access the bios config, but pulling half the memory seems to have eliminated all the fatal kernel panics, but I still can't actually compile anything. We'll have to see.

One hundred fifty-nine hours to go.

you spend enough time with [Gem] and you'll get so stoned you'll want
to do something REALLY stupid like...
