Kevin Smith is my evil twin brother.
Kevin Smith makes the kind of movies I probably would if I were twisted.
When he wandered over to the Boulder Compound to begin filming The Worst Sci-Fi Prequel Ever (aka wsf0), Bitscape brought with him his DVD copy of Jay and Silent Bob Struck Back. After filming, Scott (who played the News Monster, with an all-new mask) wanted to watch the movie, so after copying a bunch of stuff off Rage's old hard drive, I tossed the disk in Ziyal's appropriate drive, and proceeded to watch. It was an absurdly amusing, 104-minute in-joke, referencing about everything under the planet, including almost every main character in the previous four View Askew universe in at least a cameo role. It's the movie I would make if I were twisted.
Making a movie is hard work. But rather fun. I'd like my actors to know their lines, although Willy and I didn't finish our final screenplay revisions until late Saturday night. I'd like real sets, or at least something resembling them. But the rushes were good. I have no real idea if we're going to finish even principal photography in the time we have allocated before I head back to College Place. (Just what I need -- a stressful vacation.) Not only that, but I have no idea what I'm doing at the end of August. I suppose I need to enter rabid job-search mode. It's just hard not to be a little bit disappointed that my fianceé is a thousand miles away.
