I suppose I'll see what I can do to provide some of the greatly sought-after Jäger content the rest of the Content Solutions world has been waiting for. At the moment, Gem and I are living in the Alcove in my parents' basement. Aside from the whole "parents' basement" thing, and the fact that it's temporary lodging, it's a fairly nice place to live, complete with a nice Internet connection. (High bandwidth *and* low latency! How lucky do we get?) This morning, Gem and I organized a bit so we can get our clothes off the floor and into recently-vacated shelves formerly occupied by books. (I'd still prefer some sort of "dresser" thing, but this works for now.)
I'm rather depressed about my possibility to actually find a real job. Everyone who's hiring is hiring experienced people, usually in fields I know absolutely nothing about. And then there's the Epic Question: do I distribute my resumé in Word? I have no desire whatsoever to use Microsoft products, but am I limiting my job options by asserting that? When I submit my resume to someone, what do they look for? Why are my submissions getting sent to the bit bucket? How much experience does six years of vague familiarity and two years of l33tness with C correspond to? Is it a good idea to keep Buildmeasite, and my preposterous title of "VP Engineering", off my resume?
scottgalvin.com has indicated his willingness to employ me for two months. The salary leaves a lot to be desired, as does the promise of time involved, but I'm tempted to assert that it's worth considering. So begs the questions: do I move out into some pseudo-permanent residence? What are the odds that I'll find employment in $CITY_NOT_IN_COLORADO and want to move there after two months, only to be stuck with an n month lease, where n > 2?
At least I know one thing: I love Gem, and I'm glad to be married to her.
any Strange pleasure. Show up with difficult; in class.
