Today wasn't the first time I acquired a DVD on the first day it was released to the general public (the first was eleven months ago), but it was the first time I watched a DVD on the evening of the first day it was released to the general public. I swung by Circuit City this afternoon (after showing my futile job search scorecard to my father at lunch at Sawadee) and presented the receipt for the giftcard my mother-in-law gave me for my birthday in exchange for a Monsters, Inc. two-DVD set. I tossed it in this evening, watched the outtakes and two Pixar shorts, and let Willy convince me to watch the whole thing. That's a great movie. (And the only G-rated movie in my collection. Although I did see a three-pack of Pixar's previous movies on the shelf, complete with a voucher to see Monsters, Inc. in the theater -- coming soon!)
