It dawned on me recently that I'm one of the Slashdot elite. I have a low four-digit uid (I got my account within several weeks of the login system being activated), I have an "Excellent" karma (which means my karma column is twenty-five or above, but we're no longer privileged to see the actual number), and I get moderator access every other week or so. (I'm greatly pleased to see that there is now an indicator of my moderator privileges on the main page, so I don't have to go into a discussion and suddenly see a drop-down after each comment. Proof that CmdrTaco is doing more than just filtering through article suggestions.)

It's kind of strange to realize that I'm actually a member of some elite group that is actually fairly well-known. I suppose stranger things have happened, though.

(I wonder if this is something I could put on my resume. :))
