Had another interview...

Had another interview this morning. Got an official visitor tag for the duration of my visit. Figured out the best way to get between home and there. Decided that I could do some seriously cool stuff up there and learn a whole lot, more than the other job. (Hint: I might get my name in the kernels of several unix-like operating systems.) Everything else being equal, I'd jump on this job in a nanosecond. Things not being equal, I'll have to see what offer they make me.Went to Fairview. Filled out the appropriate form to get a transcript sent to Wally World. Dropped by the computer lab where I spent much of my time during my last two years of high school. Talked to a guy who has heard of me -- apparently I'm near-legendary there. (Or so I would like to believe.) I hear the sing songs of my honor on Programmer's Day and the freshmen whisper "Jäger" with reverent voices. Yeah whatever. But it's fun to play, right? Realized this is the only school year which won't see a Logan child at Fairview for possibly up to eight years.
Coded most of the afternoon working on my consulting project. Finished it ten minutes ago after wrestling with a few annoying Perl 5.004 bugs. Resisted the urge to flame one specific person for insisting that our server go with a "stable" Debian distribution, one that's "proven" and also happens to be "hideously out of date" with at least Perl "two minor version behind". Got drug to BJA for their spring concert -- Willy's there for the next week before he's done, ending nine consecutive school years of Logan children at BJA.
Oh yeah, another contest spews up in local webspace... fun. That marks the fifth pseudo-local webperson with a contest of his very own. The circle enlarges...
