I think I may remember this morning as well as I remembered two mornings previously in my life: 28 January 1986 and 11 September 2001. It's not really a pleasant feeling.

I hit Slashdot this morning and saw the top story: NASA had lost contact with Columbia at 200,000 feet somewhere over central Texas, on its way to landing in Florida. I told Gem, who didn't seem terribly concerned (odds are she was occupied getting ready for church), but as soon as I told Willy, he sprinted past me and hit the TV. Like a previous morning, the TV was playing a PBS children's program. I changed to some local news channel and we stood, transfixed, by the news coverage.

I'm not sure how many more mornings like this my life really needs.
