Content Vultures

Date: 2000-05-22 22:15:00

I am a content vulture. Obviously you are too, otherwise you wouldn't be reloading this page every thirty minutes to see if I've posted new content. (I read my weblogs -- I'm watching you.) My content vulturism has spread to meatspace, too. I finished The Best SF 4 yesterday and The Postman last night. This afternoon I launched into The Hobbit, but not before thumbing through Cryptonomicon for Stephenson's Tolkien reference, classifying people as Men, Dwarves, and Elves. Perhaps I will have to adopt that classification scheme. I successfully taped Earth: Final Conflict's season finale last night and watched it this morning. That's a cool episode. Missing various recent episodes brought up a few questions: Is Jonathan Doors dead? Did Joshua Doors take over as head of Doors International? Then there's the standard one: Who, really, is Sondoval working for? Lili's child should be interesting. I'll repeat the feverant call of another geek in webspace: HIRE LISA HOWARD NEXT SEASON! GIVE HER WHATEVER SHE WANTS, SCHEDULEWISE OR WHATEVER. YOUR SHOW NEEDS HER.

Still haven't figured out where I'm working. I'm actually getting a little bored. Any more time and I'll start to recode my webpage. I have to get a job.

So another webpage I frequent changed its look, only not one that references me (or that I reference, or know anyone who works on it, for that matter): Salon. It looks fairly decent, on first impression, besides the fact that my X fonts are screwed and display most of the text in nearly-unreadable glyphs (a similar problem, although less extreme, to the Writings section of another site).

I can forsee the immediate future with [Bitscape], me, and Andromache
all obliquely referencing each other's pages from our own in more and
more fast-breaking content updates.
