Aircraft Marketing

World-readable

It seems like airplanes aren't the kind of thing you can really market. Both Airbus and Boeing have recently come out with some extremely fuel efficient passenger jets, and what airlines buy what planes depends largely on a cost-benefit-analysis. In fact, those machines are probably among a small minority of goods that are literally bought and sold purely based on technical merit -- the number crunchers at Southwest are hard to impress with slogans.

I would wager that airlines buy a lot of planes from both companies because they want them both to exist. If one of them goes out of business, it would mean an end to competition in the market, so the airlines have a strategic advantage in not establishing a "winner."

When someone mentions windows what comes to mind? A thin, clear, pane of
glass that's very fragile, a product or products from Microsoft that
exhibit the same traits as a pane of glass.
