Camera geeks in the audience will be thrilled to learn that I acquired a Nikon D50 (Nikon's entry-level digital SLR offering), complete with a pair of lenses (18mm-55mm, 55mm-200mm). I've been lusting after digital SLRs for a long time; I'm pleased to have finally gotten my hands on one. (I'm justifying it because I be making considerably more money at my new job, enough to fund the camera with minimal effort. And so I can have a sexy camera to take to London, and anywhere else I end up.)

So far, I've used only the point-and-shoot full-auto mode; I'm working my way through the manual so I'll know how to use the partial- and full-manual modes when I need them.

A standard question in the Commune, "Study well?", has absolutely
nothing to do with how well one learned the designated material,
but rather to the individual's interactions with the one with whom
he is studying.
