I have to confess that it never crossed my mind to try asking Google Maps for directions between places on non-connecting continents. This morning, I asked for directions from Longmont to London. Google Maps happily found a driving route for me, which takes me on I-76 to I-80 though Nebraska, eventually taking me to Boston, where, at step 29, it instructs me:

29. Swim across the Atlantic Ocean

I hope no one takes this literally, as some users of satellite navigation systems apparently do.
