I was vaguely aware that The Matrix used locations in Sydney for the city and buildings, but I didn't know how close I was to Trinity's dramatic roof-top rescue. This evening I broke out my copy of The Matrix and fast-forwarded to the exterior shots. I took this photo less than a block from my hotel, reflecting BT Tower behind me:

A second later, the wounded helicopter is about to crash into BT Tower, across Market Street from the building I photographed above. The thin blue line is the Sydney Monorail; the horizontal street is Market Street and the intersection at the right is Kent Street. People are walking along the eastern approach to the Pyrmont Bridge starting from the helicopter blade heading to the left. I walked by this building, along this street, most nights on my way to supper.
