The first day of second grade, six years apart
Julian started second grade at Westlake Elementary in Santa Cruz in August. I picked him up from school and took his picture to record this moment in time; and then another parent thought I had a good idea and took a pictures of their own kids in front of the sign.
This brought to mind the similar moment, six years ago, when Calvin started second grade at Sunnyside Elementary in San Francisco. I walked him to school that morning, a foggy Fogust morning, and stood with him on the paved concrete playground to listen to the school principal talk.
