Last Friday I made my first official Gantt chart.
I ended up with ownership of one of my employer's most important projects between now and the end of the year. To that end, I get to orchestrate all of the time of two software engineers (myself and my new office-mate) and portions of the time of three other engineers over the next two months in a desperate attempt to ship the product by the end of the year. I have some ambitious goals and I'm not sure how many of them I'll be able to accomplish; no matter what, it'll be exciting and all.
In unrelated news, I managed to get my hands on a hardback copy of At All Costs, the eleventh book in the Honor Harrington series, and the seventeenth book in the Honorverse. In an unsurprising moment of enlightenment, Baen saw fit to include a CD with the complete unencrypted text, in several popular formats, of the previous sixteen books in the Honorverse, plus seventeen other books David Weber wrote. General Lynx (who happens to be sitting across the table from me at Hacking Society right now) has a vast collection of ISO images available at Oberon. As soon as I get home I'll start seeding At All Costs from my CD.
