Last night, I attended the world premier of The Gate, Willy's latest short film. My involvement in the film was minor, although I did manage to suggest the title and a few of the scenes portrayed in the film. My primary role was technical consultant; I gave Willy a hand with the frightening open-source programs I use for video editing and burnt the DVD for the premier. It seems likely that we'll fix the audio prior to the Official DVD Release (Willy attempted to ADR some of the audio, which didn't work nearly as well as it could have), and the color of the opening titles needs to change. Other than that, it was a most excellent movie.

Having rejected DOS, we're paranoid about anything that isn't
"user-friendly," that requires some adjustment on our part and a
commitment to meet the technology halfway. It's as if Henry Ford rigged
a bridle and set of leather reins to his Model T instead of a steering
wheel and clutch, and to this day we were still driving our cars the way
a 19th century groomsman would handle a horse and buggy.
