The Train at the End of the Tunnel

Once again I'm typing an offline changelog at the notebook overlooking the church from the PA booth. I woke up entirely too early this morning (0630, the same time I woke up this past week to get to work a bit early) to set up the sound system before church. Now I'm in eye-of-the-hurricane mode, waiting for church itself to start.

Since Monday, I've worked forty-nine hours this week. (Working thirteen hours on Tuesday helped my hour total, although not my sanity.) At the beginning of the week, the light at the end of the tunnel was definitely a train. The train showed up late Wednesday, when our customers appeared on-site and were sufficiently impressed by the products we're selling them. We managed to dodge the train; now the light at the end of the tunnel really is the end of the tunnel -- crunch time is officially scheduled to end next Friday, regardless of whether we actually get everything done. Then I'm going on vacation the following week for Thanksgiving, when I get to spend an entire week not thinking about work at all... until my relatives ask me what I do for a living.

The inspection on our new house was Wednesday afternoon. Gem left work early to show up to see the highlights (and where to turn the water and gas off) in person. The inspector said the house was in better shape now than when it was built seven years ago; the owners have taken good care of it and upgraded it significantly.

Church is about to start, so I'm wandering off to be useful now.
