I envy you. You get to go to my "homeland" of So Cal. (LA area) and even have the bill paid by your employer. I would love to just be able to go "home" and visit even if I were footing the bill.
There is just so much to do down there and the weather is generally mild year round with plenty of sunshine. I also love the beaches. You don't have to go to the crowded places on the LA coast, but just travel a wee bit up North (30+ minutes or so on PCH, around the Ventura County line or beyond) and you'll find more secluded, less populated beaches (especially in the Winter months as the water is colder then).
