Calvin grows taller
Calvin turned fourteen this year and is now well on his way through his adolescent growth spurt.
Calvin has grown taller than Kiesa, but is still a few inches shorter than me. I'm 5'11" (which I believe is an inch taller than the mean American male); Calvin may now be as tall as 5'7". It's not yet clear how tall he'll end up; he's now wearing size 9 (or nine-and-a-half) shoes; I wear size nine-and-a-half shoes. I remember this age: suddenly being taller than my mother, settling into my adult shoe size first, then growing the into my full adult height.
(I'm still bemused that Calvin is starting high school this year, which means we've successfully kept him alive for fourteen years already!)
