I recall Yanthor's original proto-plan involved sticking around until Friday (being the Second of January in the Unix year five and twenty), but your proposed schedule sounds good to me.
On our grand New Year's (f|ph)est, we can celebrate the beginning of the second century since the Mac epoch, which (for some reason that I haven't yet determined) counts seconds from midnight on 1 January 1904.
